Winter Wonderland at CragRats Brasserie
11 February 2009On February 6th, CragRats Brasserie played host to a magical Diners’ Club event. The party theme of Winter Wonderland could not have been more perfect for the wintriest weather we had seen for 18 years. The snow covered hills of the Holme Valley were a sublime backdrop for the much anticipated party. Anna and the team at the Brasserie created a stunning Winter Wonderland setting in and around the Brasserie building, perfectly showcasing the adaptability of the restaurant. Diners’ Club members from around the region attended the event, dressed in beautiful dresses and DJs (with the odd pair of wellington boots being replaced at the door). Guests were welcomed to the Winter Wonderland by themed stilt performance artists. Once inside the atmosphere was buzzing with the reception drinks flowing and delicious signature canapés doing the rounds. Entertainment was provided by vocalist Toni James. The evening’s fundraising was on behalf of one of CragRats Brasserie’s customers, Megan Paskin. Megan was one of the Brasserie’s first brides, and in 2008 sadly lost her son Eddie after only two days of life. Generous party goers were encouraged to buy raffle tickets for Eddie’s Fund through which Megan aims to raise enough funds to buy St. James’ Neonatal Unit a new incubator. A total of £515 was raised on the night and raffle winners included Vicky Munroe who won a bottle of exclusive LOVE Vodka, Claire Park who won an original piece of artwork and Christine Goodwin who won a fabulous fruit basket. The night was topped off by an amazing laser and firework show, which everybody happily braved the frosty air to watch. The evening was deemed a huge success with everyone having a great time!
